BREWER, Maine -- 05/19/2017 - Perry Drew was drafted into World War II when he was 18 years old. He was placed in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard, who's units were established during WWII in an attempt to provide defensive firepower to merchant ships in convoy or merchant ships traveling alone.
