BANGOR, MAINE -- 02/28/2017 -- Salena Sawtelle (left) checks with team leader Connie Drake (forground) about the residents she has to take care of at Stillwater Health Care facility in Bangor recently. Nursing homes such as this are largely staffed by women and the wages are not far above Maine's minimum wage. Sawtelle feels like the work they have to do would command a higher pay, especially that she could find another job that payes more, but comes with less work and responsibility.
