HERMON, MAINE -- 06/23/2016 - A group from the University of Maine examine the dirt of a Hermon home on New Boston Road Thursday. Many police agencies searched the yard for the remains of a Bangor woman missing since 1980. The Bangor Police DepartmentÕs Criminal Investigation Division, Maine State Police and Penobscot SheriffÕs Deputies were at the scene searching for any evidence related to the disappearance of Sharon Smith, who was reported missing Sept. 4, 1980.
