HERMON, MAINE — 07/31/2017 — Diane Jarvis stands by in case her husband Gary Jarvis needs help to move from a chair into his wheelchair at their Hermon home. Gary was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, in 1999 and slowly has been losing the use of muscles in his body.
