ROCKLAND, MAINE -- 12/21/2016 -- Gulf War veteran Elton Thornhill, 44, walks his service dog Haley in Rockland Wednesday morning. Thornhill used several months of SNAP when he was homeless, but he recently lost his SNAP benefits. "I love this dog. Sometimes I take care of her better than I take care of myself." Thornhill said.
