BELFAST, Maine -- David Carlson of Marshall Wharf Brewing Co. shows some of the dried sugar kelp that he added Wednesday to the first batch of seaweed beer that will be called Maine Sea Belt. The brand-new beer will use seaweed grown at Maine Fresh Sea Farms, a six-month-old aquaculture enterprise in the Damariscotta River in South Bristol. "I know this beer is going to be good," he said.
