BDN photo by Nick McCrea Crews have torn down the iconic carport over the entrance to the former Pilots Grill on Hammond Street in Bangor. Some took that as a sign that the building is being demolished, but that's not the case. A dance studio is moving into the building, which has been vacant for nearly two years. Owners say the carport was seriously damaged by ice and snow last winter.
