Fisheries Biologist Jacob van de Sande took delivery Tuesday of thousands of North Atlantic Salmon eggs that will take shelter at the Down East Salmon Federation's hatchery in the Washington County community of Columbia Falls before being released into the adjacent Pleasant River in May. Between the Pleasant River facility and a new hatchery on the East Machias River, the Federation is providing a winter months nursery for more than 200,000 tiny salmon. Tom Walsh | BDN
